Hughes takes part in Great Neck NSM event

More than 120 skaters and their families with the Great Neck Figure Skat- ing Club in New York enjoyed two hours of festivities in celebration of National Skating Month (NSM). Olympic champion Sarah Hughes participated in the January event at her home rink and wrote an ar- ticle for the Anton Community Newspa- pers about the experience. dren, she said, was receiving a gift bag upon arrival, which included a decorative towel to clean their skating blades and Snowplow Sam souvenirs. Coaches Far- ah Gholamazad and Celeste Estrada led an on-ice skills class followed by a free skating session, with skaters of all levels gliding and dancing to popular tunes. NSM events in Atlantic City, N.J.; Chicago; Sugarland, Texas; New York City; and last year in Albany, N.Y., with her Olympian sister Emily, noted that this was the first
