Workshops
& Seminars SATURDAY, APRIL 6 2:00 p.m. Defect Solution Forum The source of the defects can be as varied as the defects themselves. Two defects on the same casting may have two different sources. The more we understand about different defect sources, the more choices we may have to determine a specific source and possible solution. Participants will present defects they have combatted and solutions they have found to work to remove the future formation of the defect. Some presenters also will provide an overview of programs put in place to anticipate problems from past experiences and minimize their likelihood in the future.
SUNDAY, APRIL 7 9:00a.m. How to Perform a Casting Supplier Audit This workshop will focus on identi- fying key elements of metalcasting facility operations that are a must in auditing, as well as methods to audit. Discussion on the grading system behind the audit program also will be evaluated. Presenters will provide a live scenario on the pros and cons of performing audits based on real-life scenarios. This workshop will help you evaluate your companies audit program to ensure you are getting a true picture of the foundries op- erations, capacity and capabilities. Presenters are well versed auditors and trainers in both foundry operations and professional levels.
MONDAY, APRIL 8 2:00 p.m. Casting Defect Analysis: A Case Study by The Institute A summary from the Institute’s Casting Defect Analysis course. Our step-by-step procedure is broken down and used in a case study.
