ETC help convert a former chemical factory into a lighting work of art!

Abandoned in the 1970’s ECI Cultuurfabriek is a converted former chemical factory. It was decided, after many years of discussion to refurbish it. Its missing roof was replaced and walls rebuilt and became a space for the whole community to use in the form of a new theatre in Roermond, south east Holland, and has been fitted out with entirely LED fixtures.


Incoming technical manager Maarten Janssen invested in 30 ETC Source Four Lustr+ and 22 ETC Selador Desire Lustr+

LED luminaires for its 244 seat theatre space, taking advantage of extra funding available for environmentally sustainable projects. Janssen explains why he chose the ETC fixtures: “I saw the LED demonstrations on ETC’s YouTube video library. The fixtures have incredibly smooth fades, which I’ve never seen in any other LED fixture. The range of colours is impressive.”


The use of LEDs has been beneficial in helping to keep the room cool, adds Janssen: “For every thousand watts of
