This article shows that it is to provide manufacturers with a universal solution for their device-side PCB in order to cover the requirements placed on industrial devices today and in the future, including those faced by the controller, for example. These PCB connectors are inserted into the standard manufacturing process without additional process steps. The risk of damage to the PCBs that additional fi tting and soldering could cause is eliminated. Conclusion New connector solutions are able to follow the innovation cycles of the PCBs and can be altered accordingly where short innovation cycles are crucial for competitiveness. These developments combine innovative capabilities on the PCB side with continuity in termination systems, resulting in signifi cant customer benefi ts.
