Name: Claire Matthewman

Position: Features Writer

Main duties: Writing features and subbing proofs before they go to print.

How long have you worked for IB? I’ve worked for Irish Beauty for five years, but I’ve been in the publishing industry for seven years.

What did you want to be when you were growing up? When I was really young I always wanted to be a hairdresser as I loved playing with hair, but then from the age of about 12 I decided I wanted to be a journalist – so here I am!

What would be your perfect day off work? Going to the zoo with my partner and 17 month old daughter – we love it there!

If you had €1000, what would you do with it? Buy some new clothes – I’m feeling in need of a yummy mummy makeover.

Favourite film: Priscilla Queen of the Desert – it makes me laugh every time I watch it.

Favourite holiday destination: I love Barcelona – Antoni Gaudi’s architecture is simply amazing

Favourite song: Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen, it just makes me want to get up and dance every time I hear it.

Favourite food / drink: I’m not sure I have a favourite food – I love it all but if I have to pick just one I’d probably say Italian. With regards to drink, I’m not a big drinker but I am quite partial to a Malibu and Diet Coke!

Who is the most famous person you've met? I don’t think I’ve ever met anybody particularly famous… there’s meant to be some very distant family connection to Tom Selleck though if that counts!

Your three ‘Desert Island’ beauty products: Comfort Zone Skin Defender, Bare Minerals Foundation and Dermalogica Multivitamin Bodyblock.

What are you looking forward to most in 2013? Going on holiday abroad, it’s been almost three years since I’ve had some proper sunshine and I can’t wait!
