Lysacek, Coughlin undergo successful surgeries Evan Lysacek, the 2010 Olympic champion and a two-time U.S.


champion, is recovering after having successful surgery in November to repair a torn muscle in his lower abdomen, commonly referred to as a sports hernia. He is expected to make a full recovery. Lysacek, 26, was off the ice for about six weeks and has been eval-


uated on a weekly basis since he resumed training. Lysacek’s goal is to compete at the 2013 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships, Jan. 20-27, 2013, in Omaha, Neb., and to continue to prepare for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
