Host cities announced for 2014 and 2015 synchronized skating qualifying events
U.S. Figure Skating announced in December the sites for the 2014 and 2015 synchronized
skating qualifying competitions, including Colorado Springs, Colo., as the host of the 2014 U.S. Syn- chronized Skating Championships and Providence, R.I., as the host of the 2015 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. The 2014 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, hosted by the Broadmoor Skating Club,
will take place Feb. 26–March 1, 2014. The 2015 event, hosted by the Warwick Figure Skaters, will be held Feb. 25–28, 2015. The 2014 Midwestern/Pacifi c Coast Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships, hosted
by the Skokie Valley Figure Skating Club, will be held Jan. 23–25, 2014, in Hoff man Estates,
Ill.The 2014 Eastern Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships, co-hosted by the Central Pennsylva- nia and Hershey Figure Skating Clubs, will be held in Hershey, Penn., Jan. 30–Feb. 1, 2013. The 2015 Midwestern/Pacifi c Coast Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships, hosted by the Braemar City of Lakes Figure Skating Club, will be held Jan. 29–31, 2015, in Edina, Minn.
Host cities announced for 2015 and 2016 U.S. Championships U.S. Figure Skating has announced that Greensboro, N.C., and St. Paul, Minn., have been
named hosts to upcoming U.S. Championships. The 2015 U.S. Championships in Greensboro will be held Jan. 18–25, 2015, at the Greensboro
Coliseum Complex. The event was last held in Greensboro in 2011. The Greensboro Coliseum is undergoing major renovations that are expected to be complete for the Championships. The 2016 U.S. Championships in St. Paul will take place Jan. 16–24, 2016, at Xcel Energy Cen-
ter. The city of St. Paul also hosted the 2008 U.S. Championships, where champions included 2010 Olympians Mirai Nagasu, Evan Lysacek and Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto. “U.S. Figure Skating is excited to return to two great host cities for the 2015 and 2016 U.S.
Championships,” U.S. Figure Skating Executive Director David Raith said. “U.S. Figure Skating and its athletes, fans and offi cials had positive experiences in both Greensboro and St. Paul. As we begin a new Olympic quad leading up to the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, we are confi dent those experiences will be even better.” Both events will be broadcast live on NBC and online at
icenetwork.com.
