IT’S THE INDUSTRY’S BIGGEST night out and, with less than three weeks to go, hopes are riding high among the shortlisted companies for the 2013 Business Travel Awards. The annual accolades – regarded as the most prestigious in the marketplace – recognise excellence and outstanding performance during the last year, as identified by the most critical of audiences: the customer. The judging panel, comprising leading travel buyers from a cross-section of industries, had their work cut out, with many of the 22 categories attracting a record number of entries. All will be revealed at the glittering awards ceremony, which takes place on Monday, January 21, in the magnificent surroundings of the Great Room at London’s Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel, in front of
more than 1,200 people. “There could be one or two surprises this year,” says Mike Toynbee, chairman of the judging panel. As always, thanks to the
