JO FOLEY is a renowned author and journalist as well as our World of Spas editor, having previously edited Woman, Options and other magazines. She travels worldwide in search of the latest spa and beauty news and reports back on the most blissful hideaways to enjoy.


GARY BUCHANAN, our Contributing Editor, is one of cruising’s most distinguished writers, a specialist for some 20 years and a connoisseur of all things maritime. He writes regularly for The Times and Telegraph and is author of three books on QE2.


ANNA SELBY has been travelling all her life – and living everywhere from Tibet to Polynesia. She has written for most of the British broadsheet newspapers, as well as numerous magazines, and is the author of 21 books.

GUY MANSELL is a journalist, lecturer and author of a number of guidebooks, who is unique in flushing out stories mainstream writers have yet to discover. His recent travels include Madeira, India – and the historic Rideau Canal in Canada.


CAROL WRIGHT is a freelance travel writer who, in addition to destination travel, specialises in cruising, food and spas. She has been chairman of the British Guild of Travel Writers twice and has written 30 books on travel and food subjects.


PETER NEWALL has been in the travel industry since 1974 but has been visiting ships for more than 45 years. He is a well-known writer and author of many highly acclaimed books, including the histories of Union-Castle and Orient Line and a new Fleet History of Cunard.

JANE FOSTER is a well-travelled writer and photographer who now specialises in Greece, Croatia and the Adriatic coast and contributes to a wide range of UK and US media from her home in Dalmatia.


STEVE NEWMAN is a former school-teacher who gave it all up to become a travel writer and photographer. He now provides illustrated features to a variety of newspapers and magazines and is a keen champion of adventure and eco-cruising.


SUSAN VENESS is a Florida-based travel writer and author with an eye for what makes a destination really tick. She accompanied editor-husband Simon to Hawaii and reports on the true nature of these magnificent islands in this issue.

STEWART CHIRON is a well-known face on US TV where he is known as The Cruise Guy after more than 20 years as an industry expert who is widely quoted on all issues to do with the cruise industry.


JOHN HONEYWELL, aka Captain Greybeard, is a long-time news man and travel writer who is now well known for his cruise writing on a wide range of issues from his highly popular online blog.


DOUG PARKER has pioneered sea-going online broadcasts through his Cruise Radio website and weekly podcast show and is considered to be one of the most up-to-date cruise news sources in the world today.


THE ADMIRAL is a genuine cruise ‘insider’ who prefers to keep himself anonymous. And, no, it’s not our Editor in disguise!
