Yoga Jo Foley
chooses four of her favourite places where yoga is on offer – and brings readers a FREE meditation class to download
At this time of the year most of us are over- stressed and over-tired, and the idea of taking ourselves off to a spa where we can regroup and rejuvenate sounds simply blissful.
But, while massages, wraps and scrubs are terrific for the body, what about the over-stressed, exhausted mind? This is where such practices as yoga, pranayama and meditation come into their own.
And, if you’ve never tried any of them, a spa is a good place to start. Most spas now offer a host of relaxation therapies and especially yoga, which stretches and strengthens the body as well as involving the mind.
48 WORLD OF CRUISING I Winter 2012-13 LONGEVITY, Algarve, Portugal
Nestling in the hills above Portimao, and just minutes from the old spa resort of Monchique is the newest addition to well- being on the Iberian Peninsula.
