LETTUCES


LETTUCE CULTURE As soon as the soil can be worked, sow seed 1" apart, 1/8" deep, in rows 18" apart. Allow one week for germina- tion. Thin to 6-12" apart. Lettuce does best in cool weather, and can be started inside 4-5 weeks before trans- planting outdoors. A packet contains approximately 500 seeds unless otherwise stated and sows a 20' row.
