INSIDE USA CURLING Dues and roster deadline is Jan. 31 by Christy Hering, USA Curling, christy.hering@usacurl.org

sent to any club and region presidents, treasurers, and membership roster coordinators for whom we have email addresses. T e USA Curling rosters and dues materials will also be available on our website at www.usacurl. org. Included in this packet is information about our prize drawing for clubs that submit dues and rosters by the Jan. 31, 2013, deadline. Addi- tional entries for this drawing will be awarded to those who complete our annual diversity survey by the same deadline. We are pleased to let you know that the United States Curling Associa-

A

tion Board of Directors has approved deferring the typical bi-annual dues increase, which would have been eff ective for 2012-13. As a result, there is no increase to your curlers this season. In addition to this, dues for non-curler social members not wishing to receive the Curling News have decreased from $21 to just $5 for this membership category. We look for- ward to continuing to increase the value and support the USCA provides to clubs and curlers across the country. As we strive to fi nd ways to foster better communication with our

16,000-plus members, email addresses are becoming increasingly impor- tant. We use members’ email addresses for forwarding important USCA announcements; promoting member benefi ts such as instructor, ice tech- nician, and offi ciating courses; and distributing Stone Soup and the digital editions of the Curling News. Encourage your members to provide their

email addresses to us this season. For members concerned about the pri- vacy of their email, please know that we have updated our list rental policy to ensure that our members’ email addresses are not made publically avail- able (except for those of club committee members, which are posted in our Media Guide and Directory). As an added precaution, members can opt out at any time from receiving outside mailings simply by contacting the USA Curling offi ce. One way for members to keep their contact information current is by

establishing a username and password through the USA Curling member database. By updating your personal information on a regular basis, you will help to ensure timely receipt of the Curling News and other important announcements from the USA Curling offi ce. We want to personally con- nect with every USA Curling member, and this helps us to eff ectively do that. For step-by-step instructions on how to establish login access to your membership account, please email christy.hering@usacurl.org. Once again, we are asking all clubs to update their rosters using USA

Curling’s online membership database, www.association-data.com. If you would like to update your roster via bulk upload, this must be completed by the USA Curling offi ce. Uploads can be sent to christy.hering@usacurl. org. If you have any questions about, or need assistance with any part of the fi ling process, please contact Christy at the email address listed above, or by calling 888-287-5377, Ext. 207. T e USCA Membership Database has been designed and built with the

assistance of USA Curling sponsor AtomAmpd, and will continue to evolve to meet the needs of our organization and members. ■
