Valspar anchors R&D in US


Valspar has announced a $30m expansion of its coatings research and development campus in Minneapolis in the US that will see it add more than 8,000m2

Yalian pipe coating unit starts up


Yalian Steel Corporation’s new pipeline coating plant has now been fully commis- sioned at its recently constructed facility at Yangzhou in China’s Jiangsu province, where it also operates a 200,000 tonnes/ year LSAW steel pipe mill. The $8.7m coating line is


claimed to be the first in China to be equipped with a semi-automatic control system. It is configured to handle three layer PE and PP as well as FBE coatings. ❙ www.yaliansteel.com
