companies in the UK and overseas, provided the essential finishing touch to the ActivTable in the form of its connector panels. The ActivTable, an interactive table with a 46-inch HD LCD touch-sensitive display, the brainchild of Promethean,
is which
manufactures products and solutions for the education sector. The ActivTable enables flexible opportunities for collaboration, from small group learning to supporting special needs and whole class activities. Promethean tasked Diametric with producing the all-important connector panels which house the

speakers and sockets to connect microphones, USB devices and headphone sets. It was a difficult challenge as the panels had to fit perfectly and comply to strict safety regulations. Diametric created a panel that was made of several alternating layers of stainless steel and polycarbonate. This ensured the product was completely safe and also meant the panel would fit perfectly to the product. The panel was cut using Diametric’s press tools to allow space for the sockets. The speaker section
was embossed, allowing it to come through the aperture in the polycarbonate but remain flush to the panel. The components passed all safety tests and Diametric produced the first batch of just under 1,000 of the items from its manufacturing centre in the UK. The
ActivTables have been manufactured by Promethean and are currently hitting
classrooms worldwide. Helen Isherwood, Product Manager for ActivTables at Promethean, said: “Diametric delivered an outstanding result. The connectivity panels are not only intuitive to use, but also have a high quality finish that is safe and durable for students to use daily.”

-T-A Circuit Breakers, quality designer and manufacturer of a broad range of electro- mechanical and electronic products for circuit protection, has now obtained ATEX approval for special versions of its ESX10 and ESX10-T electronic overcurrent protection products for automation applications. Designed to reduce costly downtime and danger to personnel on production lines, the ESX10 can be plugged directly into an E-T-A Module 17plus power distribution socket which is mountable on a DIN/EN rail, while the ESX10-T is for direct rail mounting. The ATEX-approved 3G category of ESX10 and ESX10-T are intended for the use in Ex zone 2, making them particularly useful for applications in process control in the chemical, petroleum and gas industries. The compact E-T-A ESX10 and ESX10-T Electronic Circuit Breakers are just 12.5mm wide and both provide electronic overcurrent protection for 24V DC (and 12V DC ESX10-T only) control circuits with load currents from 0.5A to 12A.
