FAES celebrates jubilee in

FAES is celebrating 100 years

business. Founded

by Jakob Faes in 1912 as a small tool-making workshop, today the company is one of the largest Swiss service providers in mechanical engineering offering quality at competitive prices around the world. FAES has been developing

high performance slitting- and rewinding machines for sensitive foils and films for more than 25 years. The modular, colour-coded range comprises nine machines (slitters and rewinders) developed to meet a wide range of needs. The company is the world number one in the thermal transfer ribbons (TTR) sector. Years of experience with slitters and rewinders are said to guarantee maximum productivity in the converting of the materials.

On 20 September 2012 the Friends of FAES event was held at the headquarters in Wollerau. Visitors were introduced to three innovative products from FAES. The azur system designed as

an entry-level machine for BRIC countries was well received. The machine is particularly suited to small production volumes and batch sizes. System braun is designed for finishing coated/ metallised PET, BOP and BOPET films with a thickness of 1-30 m for condenser, battery and embossing films and for narrow cutting widths. The executive board of FAES

thanks all employees, business partners and friends for the past 100 years and looks forward to many more years of cooperation.

Blister technology from Romaco

Romaco is showing blister packaging technology for

special applications at this year's Taropak held in Poznan, Poland. With its modular structure and

3m length, the Noack DPN 760 is said to be the blister packer of choice of contract packaging manufacturers worldwide. The short cleaning times and

easy tool setting speed product changeovers on the blister packaging machine. All format parameters are recorded and can be recalled quickly at any time. An ideal solution for the production of small batch sizes, special packaging formats or multi-product packaging, the platen sealing execution boasts a maximum blister cavity depth of 24 mm. The system is suitable for blistering tablets, capsules, caplets, ampoules and syringes and achieves a maximum output of 60 cycles/minute. When installed in an in-line

configuration with a Promatic cartoner, Romaco says the blister

technology brings

excellent OEE values and low lifecycle costs.
