Iml breakthrough . . . Made easy
Simco-Ion Europe, worldwide leader and innovator in IML technologies, has added a new technology to the spectrum of IML tools. Easycore. A polyurethane compound which makes it possible to make complex cores which were not possible to make with existing conductive foam or charging electrode methods. Very small cylindrical shapes can be made with maximised charging surface to enable distribution of the electrostatic charge on the full surface of the label. Large shapes can be made with sectioned charging zones. Even distribution of the charge optimises the result of the end product and minimises the risk of under injection or wrinkles. Easycore also provides a good alternative for the well-known Simco-Ion
conductive foam applicator.
The Easycore compound has superbly balanced electrical and mechanical
properties to provide charging surfaces in IML cores. It comes in pre-packaged twin packs (compound and hardener) of 100, 250, 500 and 750 grams that make convenient mixing and application. The Easycore compound can be machined to the exact shape and tolerance if needed.
Come to the Simco booth to see the example basic core in which the Easycore is applied. The core is made by rapid production technique which makes it even more simple to construct a core with all necessary elements s.a. Charging pads and vacuum holes and channels. How easy does it get? Fraser Anti-Static has launched a radically new Static Eliminator Bar, the 3024. Powered by 24V DC this Bar has all the electrics built into the Bar - it does not require an external power unit. It is also unique in having the effective length the same as the overall length, which makes it ideal for compact applications such as label printing and converting machinery.

The 3024 is available in two versions. The 3024F Bar can neutralise at speeds in excess of 1000m/min and is the most powerful static eliminator Fraser has ever tested. The 3024L is the long range version which has been designed to neutralise over a 500mm range, so it ideal for winders and longer range applications.
Both models use specially designed tungsten emitters which will ensure a very long life of continuous use. The photo below shows a 3024L reducing a static charge from 70kV to under 1kV on a film winder. Both models can be made in lengths from 250mm up to 5m.
The 3024 Bar can be used in all nearly areas of the plastics and converting industry, including cleanrooms to Class 10,000.
