Lifelong Learning at Your Local Library
Universal Class is an educational service providing the highest quality online courses for library users interested in the lifelong pursuit of knowledge for either personal or professional reasons.
During Science Week 2012 in November events will include fun workshops with Scien-tastic (an interactive kids’ science laboratory) and a new collaboration with the National Print Museum to bring workshops on printing and book making to some branches. Having successfully completed a series of workshops last Autumn and Winter with secondary school classes throughout Fingal on Climate Change and Sustainability with ECO-UNESCO, Fingal County Libraries are looking forward to hosting a similar programme this year.
It offers 400 courses with up to 30 new ones added each year. Each course has real instructors that guide the learning experience and uses video-based lessons with printed transcripts. Students can access learning materials at any time from the convenience of their own home, office or library and no software is required as this is a web based service.
