You hear people say, ‘What happens in Los Angeles doesn’t stay in Los Angeles,’ and they’re right. What happens in L.A. eventually happens everywhere. If you reach Los Angeles, you reach the world.
Ross Shepherd, city coordinator for Send North America: Los Angeles

Religion Reaching Inmates T
he number of religions practiced in prisons across the country is growing, according to a survey of prison chaplains conducted by Pew Research. More than half of the chaplains surveyed (51%) cited Islam as the fastest growing religion in prisons while 47% saw Christianity growing quickly as well. Other popular religions among inmates include Paganism (34%), Na- tive American spirituality (24%) and Judaism (19%). Small amounts of growth were cited in Mormonism, Catholicism and Buddhism. Pray for our Southern Baptist chaplains and missionaries working within such a diverse religious landscape to reach inmates for Christ.
