PRESIDENT’S LETTER Mobilize Me M Serving together,

Kevin Ezell President, NAMB

any things make me glad to be a Southern Baptist, but one of the greatest distinctives we share is one of action. When we see God move we pour our efforts into moving with Him, one of the things that has encouraged me most since beginning my work with the North American Mission Board. As we’ve transitioned into a new era of partnership and a vi-

sion to penetrate lostness in North America, Southern Baptists at the state convention, association and local church levels have expressed excitement about what God is doing by partnering to support the work of church planters and other missionaries in reaching communities hundreds or even thousands of miles away. In short, they are responding by saying “Mobilize Me.” Everything we do at NAMB

is centered on informing, empowering and equipping Southern Baptist churches to carry the ball down the fi eld in North America. If NAMB can become a point of con- nection for Southern Baptist churches to meet missions needs in North America, then we will have done our job. The reality is that NAMB does not plant churches. Churches do that. Every time

a church gets mobilized by supporting or sending a church planter to a strategic area of North America, that church is living out its purpose in reaching our continent for Christ.

I hope as you’ve read the stories in this issue of On Mission magazine you’ve been

stirred to ask what your church’s role could be in the bigger story of what God is doing in North America. I pray you’ll take that next step of obedience as you pursue what God has called you to do to make Christ known in your community and among all the nations!
