NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN FOR 2012 HALL OF FAME


Nominations are now open for the Class of 2012 induction to the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame. Nominations are made in four categories: elite athletes who were instrumental in shaping the sport prior to 2000, elite athletes post-2000, age group athletes and contributors whose mark on the multisport world was made primarily in areas other than personal athletic achievement. Those wishing to make a nomination must do so by Aug. 15, 2012. Each year, nominations are made and vetted with varying numbers of candidates being inducted into the Hall of Fame.


Those who wish to make a nomination (or nominations) are encouraged to use the official nomination form on usatriathlon.org and submit a supporting description of why the individual being nominated


warrants induction. Nominations will only be accepted on the form provided and within the prescribed guidelines that are included on the nomination form. Nominations that do not follow these requirements may not be considered.


All nominations will be reviewed over the next few months with final selection anticipated in early fall. Designees will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at a banquet in their honor to be held in 2013 at a location to be determined. This banquet has sold out each of the four years it has been held. Visit www.usatriathlon.org/HOF to download the nomination form. Complete the form and the supporting background and submit to the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, USA Triathlon Office, 5825 Delmonico Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80919-2401.
