TULIP CULTURE: Plant tulip bulbs 6 to 8 inches deep and 4 to 6 inches apart in well-drained soil in full sun. Specie tulip bulbs are smaller and should be planted 3 to 4 inches deep. Fertilize at planting (we rec- ommend Bulb Buddy) and again in spring when shoots appear. After fl owering remove spent fl owers, but allow the foliage to ripen naturally before removal. Premature removal of the foliage will result in smaller blooms or no blooms next season.
