Eye-Catching Heucheras
Zones 4-9–The color range of heucheras, also know as Coral Bells, is extraordinary. They form low, dense mounds of rounded, scalloped or lobed leaves. Many bear sprays of dainty bell-shaped fl owers that are favorites of hummingbirds and excellent for cutting. They are well-suited for rock gardens, borders and containers. Grow them in rich, moist soil with good drainage. Most benefi t from at least partial shade, prefer- ably in the afternoon when the sun is hottest. Plants grown in full sun or full shade will usually survive, but may be smaller and not quite as vibrant.
