The new Optisuite2go range from Dimplex is a self assembly fireplace that ‘comes to life’ in minutes. The fireplace features Dimplex’s Optiflame range which gives the impression of realistic flickering flames. It is available in a choice of two colours. The classic Optisuite2Go features a brushed stainless steel finish inset fire with a pebble effect fuel bed, cool cream surround and a reversible back panel to offer consumers a change of colour themes, from cream stone effect to a slate grey effect. Tthe Optisuite2Go Caleta features a white surround, brass effect inset fire with real coals and black/white reversible back panel.
Heat is provided from a quiet, 2kW fan heater concealed within the canopy which can be switched to a 1kW heater. Using the flame effect only costs about the same as running a conventional 60W lightbulb.

Slim perfection
The Freeview+ HD Ultra Slim Box from EchoStar is, according to the manufacturer, the world’s slimmest digital TV recorder (DTR) for the UK’s Freeview service. It offers consumers subscription-free television with access to 50 high quality digital channels and four in HD (BBC One HD, BBC HD Channel, ITV1 HD and Channel 4 HD). A 14mm aluminium chassis houses a host of smart features, including the ability to pause or rewind live TV and record a complete series at the touch of a button using Series Link. It has a 500GB hard disk drive which allows up to 300 hours
of recording space, a twin tuner to ensure that consumers can watch one channel whilst recording another and an HDMI connection. Internet connectivity provides access to Smart TV features including catch-up TV from BBC iPlayer, on demand content through the BoxOffice365 service and the ability to upgrade to the latest software and features online.

Heating elegance
The shiny black gloss-finish Tahoe fire from Dimplex features an open- fronted design with a full picture display of a realistic flame and fuel bed. It is one of three models designed for wall mounting to show off the living flame picture within a slimline depth of just 170mm. The intensity of the flame and smoke effects is variable, operated either via the controls or a remote control. The thermostatically controlled 2kW fan heater provides a heat boost when required and the flame effects can be ‘lit’ with or without the heater. Installation of the Tahoe is straightforward, as its quick-fit IEC kettle-type connection ensures that the fire is ready in moments, and like all Dimplex fires the Tahoe is BEAB approved for the added assurance of safety.
