NewSports Massage award
A new ITEC Sports Massage award will be available in October from The Waverley Academy.
The award will allow students with no prior massage qualifications direct access to a Sports Massage qualification.
Principal Derek O Kelly says: “We are very excited about this new ITEC award in Sports Massage which will be ideally suited for those working in Spas or Leisure Centres who don’t already have a massage qualification. Traditionally therapists needed an entry-level massage qualification in order to enrol on a sports massage course. This is no longer the case as this award combines all the elements of Swedish massage with sports massage giving therapists two additional skill sets in one award.”

Retailing made easy
Join beauty business expert Liz McKeon on Monday 18th June for a retail sales workshop.
Liz has a proven track record of retailing in a Spa and salon environment. “It’s like any other skill, it’s easy once you know how and the more your practise the better you become. I’m not asking anybody to buy anything they don’t want or need, I’m simply asking them to buy it from me!” says Liz.
The team from Monica Tolans Beauty Clinic in Balbriggan, Co Dublin recently joined one of Liz’s workshops, commenting: “The girls really enjoyed the training, they were thrilled that I invested the time in them and that I picked you to do the training – for them having read about you in so many Beauty Journals, they felt it was a real Investment in their careers.”
