Kenneth A. Ohashi focuses his practice on general business litigation matters and has handled a broad range of cases and clients ranging from individuals and business to municipalities and government agencies.
Among other things, Mr. Ohashi has successfully litigated and settled various contentious State and Federal commercial unfair business practice disputes, involving allegations of misappropriation of trade secrets and other intellectual property, business fraud, as well as breaches of a variety of business agreements.
Prior to focusing upon his general business litigation practice, he was employed by local government law firms serving various municipalities and local agencies throughout Los Angeles and Orange County, California dedicated to prosecuting public violations of City, State, and Federal laws.
Mr. Ohashi takes a client-centered approach to any litigation for clients, and is also an advocate of negotiation and alternative forms of dispute resolution when they are available and appropriate for the case. Mr. Ohashi is a certified graduate of the Center for Conflict Resolution at Loyola Law School.
Prior to joining WHGC, Mr. Ohashi has enjoyed a successful career at other AV-rated law firms including K&L GATES LLP and DAPEER, ROSENBLIT & LITVAK, LLP, where he first began his civil, criminal, and administrative law practice in 2004.
Prior to obtaining his license to practice law, Mr. Ohashi had earned a Master of Music degree in Performance at the University of Southern California, after having received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music at UCLA. Prior to his career as a litigator, Mr. Ohashi had performed at various venues throughout California, and had taught piano and clarinet performance, and music theory to students of all ages for more than twenty years.
Mr. Ohashi’s Notable Cases:
Represented one of the largest wireless accessories importers and manufacturers in the United States, in the defense of a federal lawsuit by a competitor for trade dress infringement, resulting in a favorable settlement and a full dismissal of the lawsuit filed against the client.
Represented a digital signage company and manufacturer in Irvine, CA in a federal lawsuit against a communication services provider for breach of contract, resulting in a judgment of $1.6 million in favor of the client.
Represented an internationally-recognized independent distributor of information, storage and display technology computer hardware products in a state court lawsuit for the misappropriation of trade secrets against a competitor formed by former employees of the company, resulting in a favorable settlement of over a half million dollars for the client.
