rates by promoting and suppor ting optimal breastfeeding practices with the ultimate goal of improving infant and mother’s health. This is why Philips AVENT continues to invest heavily in creating dialogue between gynaecologists, midwives, breastfeeding advisors, nursing professionals, neonatologists and paediatricians. Having passed the first six months, quite often, mothers are confused by the overwhelming amount of information on getting solid foods into a baby’s diet. Fur thermore, parents get frustrated when babies just spit out the food prepared for them. Parents need to understand how babies grow and why they behave the way they do. To make the best choice for the baby, adequate information is needed. Therefore, Philips AVENT is conducting two forums:

or expecting mums, and the second for healthcare professionals. During the morning session, mums and mums-to-be will be able to make the most of their motherhood by par ticipating in breastfeeding and weaning educational classes. These classes will be run by a midwife educator and exper ts in the fields of paediatrics, infantology and nutrition, and will help mothers to overcome any challenges or fears they may have with regards to breastfeeding and weaning. The afternoon session is aimed at healthcare professionals and will give a deeper insight into the latest research on the long-term benefits of breastfeeding, the latest vaccine technology and the link between fever and nutrition. Two world-class exper ts in infant nutrition, paediatrics and paediatric gastroenterology have been invited to present their latest cutting-edge research to the audience.
