How to use the guide
The first part of this guide is about how you can find and arrange your own support without getting Salford City Council involved.


It tells you about the types of the services and groups that are in the city and how you can find out more about them.


It tells you a little about paying for services and what you should expect.


The second part of the guide is if you decide that you need more support and you would like Salford City Council’s adult social care to help.


It tells you how to get help and what happens.


It tells you who we can help


It tells you about direct payments – a way of getting support that means you are in control.


You will find lots of useful telephone numbers at the back of the guide. You will also find a lot of internet addresses. If you don’t use the internet, you can visit a library or Gateway centre and staff should be able to help you.
