If you do not want a direct payment
If you want us to arrange care and support for you and you do not mind which company provides the support, then we can do this. We will use one of the companies that we have a contract with.
Reviewing your situation
At least once a year we will contact you to review your situation. You may need less, different or more support. You can also ask us to review your situation, if things change.
Carers: If you support and care for someone because they have a long-term illness or disability or because they are frail, you should contact Princess Royal Trust Salford Carers Centre. They can tell you if you are entitled to any financial or other support for your caring role. Call us on 0161 833 0217 or email us on
carers.centre@salford.gov.uk
Keeping safe
• If you are worried about the care and support someone is getting, talk to the staff first about your concerns. If you don’t get anywhere, or you don’t feel you can talk to them, talk to their manager. If that isn’t possible, then talk to us. You can email us on
worriedaboutanadult@salford.gov.uk or telephone 0161 909 6517.
• You might think that it is someone else’s responsibility to make sure that services are working well. Please don’t assume that we have always got it right - unless you tell us there is a problem, we don’t always know.
• Below are some examples of what might be adult abuse or neglect and should be reported: • When you visit your mum in hospital, she always seems very thirsty and often not very clean.
• You think a son is taking money from your friend without her permission. He does help out by doing her shopping for her.
• When you visit your dad in a residential home, you sometimes hear a particular staff member shouting at some of the other residents.
• Your brother, who has a learning disability, has told you a carer exposed himself and touched his “privates”. He does sometimes make things up but this is not one of his usual stories.
• Your parents are supposed to have help from home care staff every day. However, sometimes you are certain they have not come. When they do come, they record they are there for a full hour when you know they are in and out in 15 minutes.
