HAPPY DAYS There was definite obsession with retro at this year’s show and the Happy Days trend was a nod to the fifties. This was a more affordable trend for the boys and will be a definite hit in the Northern Quarter, with the key ingredients being Converse and Rayban wayfarers.

PALE &

INTERESTING Harvey Nichols showed us how to do this season’s massive sorbet trend without being to sickenly sweet. We saw elegant evening- wear in beautiful neutral and soft pink shades. It was just the little touch of colour needed to get us in the Summer mood.

FINE PRINT We love to wear print in the Summer and this season Harvey Nichols kept it exciting by stepping away from predictable soft florals and instead braving more graphic prints. The vibrant trend was made wearable by the superb tailoring of British brands, McQueen and Paul Smith.

GRUNGE GLAM A trend perfect for rock royalty, this look is the way you should wear black this summer. Harvey Nichols mixed nineties grunge glamour with super-brands. It’s a relaxed look with added leather, studs and the occasional skull

print. 1. 4. 5. 6.

LONDON PUNK Bleached denim and braces; we were taken back to the eighties. With Billy Idol on the mood board, Harvey Nichol’s showed us how to do ‘punk’ but with added luxury. The looks left us dreaming of Christian Louboutin gold studded high tops. Summer.

season and Harvey Nichols did it with their glamorous customer in mind. We saw lots of cobalt, sapphire and metallic prints which were paired with heels rather than pool-shoes.

THE STYLE:

All the ‘must-have’ Spring/Summer trends were seen on the catwalk from ‘pale and interesting’ to ‘under the sea’. Our favourite look was a floor length green Lanvin paired with gold Givenchy shoes... not the cheapest combo but definitely worth the splurge. To prepare us for our holidays there were fantastic beach looks, including swimwear for men that made us blush... apparently the smaller the better this season, you b o y s

better get to the gym. The show closed with some beautiful, feminine

pieces from Liverpool designer, Philip Armstrong. We love that Harvey Nichols are supporting local talent and

who can blame them with dressesthat had everyone rummaging for their credit card.

The style seen front row rivalled that on the catwalk. Guests were head to toe in designer, sporting brands such as Chanel, Victoria by Victoria Beckham, Acne and Stella McCartney.
