Products: Reviews Sprayway – Dash Hood

They say: The must have Sprayway ladies fleece. Made with Becagli Italian stretch fleece, it performs fantastically as a mid or outer layer. GWA highlight: Two zippered hand pockets are fleece-lined and large enough to hold the essentials like keys and mobile phone securely if you find yourself leaping over puddles. Importantly, the sleeve length is good, which means you can swing your arms or reach up without exposing delicate forearms to the cold in the morning. GWA summary: Sprayway’s Dash Hoody is feminine, warm and stylish and doesn’t

look as cheap as a bog-standard ‘Fleece’. Its pockets are cosy and it’s a joy to wear when walking and generally as casual wear. It’s a little pricey, but feels like a quality product.

GWA rating: Price: £59.95

Teva – Fuse-ion Water Shoe

They say: We spend an awful lot of time around people that live for adventure. When we asked them for the biggest problem with high- performance shoes, we kept hearing the same one: "I can't wear them to the bar." So, what'd we do? We designed a shoe that they would gladly

wear to the bar, and then we figured out a way to make it the highest performing water shoe we have ever built. No big deal. GWA highlight: I like the look of the Fuse-ions. They’ve grown on me and I really do happily wear them to the pub, even when that pub is 3 miles away across a damp field. They’re a nice break from more structured and rigid ‘outdoor’ footwear that I wear most of the time, and I feel like my feet are taking a break when I wear them. GWA summary: Teva’s Fuse-ion is essentially a very grippy sole with a mesh upper and mostly cosmetic lacing system so they look at home when you’re not ankle deep in water. They dry easily and are very simple and thus comfortable. You get a choice of subtle or lairy laces thrown in. They are a little expensive though.

GWA rating: Price: £75.00

PocketToolX – Brewzer Keychain Tool

They say: The PocketToolX BREWZER will be the only keychain bottle opener that you will ever need. Not only is it made from high-grade heat treated stainless steel that will last for decades, but also boasts 5 unique features and fits perfectly on your keychain split ring (through the beer bottle shaped hole) or in your pocket. First and foremost is the bottle opener, which has been designed to pop the top on your favourite beverage in just one try. We didn’t stop there. The multi-purpose flat tip acts as a pry tool, a scraper tool, and a flat head keychain screwdriver. Last but not least, the tip has been notched to allow you to tear open packages with ease or can be used as a beer shotgun tool, yet is dull enough not to damage your pockets or your skin! GWA highlight: The Brewzer is dulled stainless steel, a little less than 2.5” long and about the weight of two keys. It’s pretty invisible as a result, which is ideal for camouflaging itself among your keys, and is there for whenever you need it. If you compare its RRP of $15 (about a tenner) to a quid or two for my old alloy one you might think it’s a bit pricey, but the Brewzer is much more manly and doesn’t look like it fell out of a free goody bag along with a transparent ballpoint pen, a branded balloon and a lollipop. GWA summary: It’s a bottle opener.

Target Dry – Mac in a Sac

They say: Mac in a Sac has been re-designed! We've taken the best bits of our best-selling packaway jacket and added some more good stuff.

After a bit of research and development, we reckon we've come up with a winning formula. We've added comfort-cuffs, reversed zips and reflective strips, as well as improving the fit. What's more, it retains our waterproof and breathable fabric, and packs down into it's own bag, with a size-printed base. GWA highlight: The Mac version 2 has

eschewed adjustable wrists for more simple elasticated wrists. They will let in a draught, but the flip side of that is that they vent sweat better. There’s also a big vent in the back which has a rain-flap over it. In combination with the main zipper, this is the bit that creates the breathability. GWA summary: A rain jacket for occasional use by lesser demanding outdoors enthusiasts. It will keep rain and wind off, and allow a reasonable amount of perspiration out, but lots of activity and things pressing on it could cause wetness inside quite easily. It seems expensive as a standalone product, but comparable to competitor ‘brands’.

GWA rating: Price: £28.99
