1.40 pm – 2.25 pm ‘Soccer Franchise Opportunities’ Active Soccer, Mark Whitwood

Since 2005 when active soccer was established as an organisation providing football coaching for 4–14 year olds, the company and its brand has developed into one of the leaders in its field, with its products and services available in a growing number of areas throughout the UK and now in Texas USA, which we hope will lead to further expansion overseas. Our original and primary aim of providing Fun, Healthy and Inclusive opportunities for our customers still applies, but in order to improve the quality of our products and services, we decided to develop five different levels with each level focussing on a specific target group. Our franchise area directors and regional managers are regularly required to attend company training events to keep them updated with new developments, skills and qualifications. Partnerships with other key organisations such as Val Sabin and Active IQ mean that active soccer and our staff are being trained to provide multi-skills sessions to our younger customers in schools and to have a role in the education and development of 14-19 year olds interested in a career in the sport and active leisure industry.

2.35 pm – 3.20 pm ‘Coaching Opportunities’ Street League, Dougie Stevenson. ‘Coaching Pathways’ Scottish FA, Donald Park

Street League - Founded originally as an organisation working with homeless people in 2001, Street League is now one of the most exciting, dynamic and fastest growing charities in the UK. We specialise in changing the lives of disadvantaged young people through the power of football. We work with disadvantaged 16-25 year old NEETs (Not in Employment, Education or Training), Young Offenders and Substance Misusers and engage them in structured football and education programmes with a view to getting our participants into work, mainstream education or training. We're really good at it too! Currently 72% of our Academy graduates go on to make a positive change in their lives by getting a job or going back into education. All this because of the power of football! Street League is currently Number 10 Downing Street's volunteering partner and has been a charity partner of The FA since 2010.
