WELCOME

As we come to the end of the season the prizes are being decided, both on and off the field.

Players will soon be asked to vote for the Player of the Year in their own division, with the winner of each award rightly being lauded as the recipient of the most prestigious award available. Further information on the awards dinner itself can be found in this publication; please come along and enjoy the night.

For those players not in the running for awards it can be a difficult time, with summer approaching and the uncertainty over new contracts at the forefront of many players’ minds. For that reason please accept our invitation to attend our annual Careers Day which for many years has been a huge success. Members can access information, with planning for a life outside football as the main focus. Apprentice players attend in their numbers but Craig Flannigan ensures that the day also caters for professionals of all ages. Many of the presentations and small group meetings are tailored towards senior players who wish to plan for their futures. It is best to do this from a young age and not wait until there is no contract on the table. Recent events have once again shown the importance of being a PFA Scotland member; even the biggest clubs have had their problems. With the continued collective support of all players we can provide the best advice to members at all levels and your support and membership as always is welcome.

Fraser Wishart Chief Executive, PFA Scotland.
