COVER STORY
THE TRANSATLANTIC RUN
Ever mindful of the 100th anniversary of the tragic Titanic sinking this April, we
have a very different Cover Story theme for this edition, taking a look at the real majesty and mystique of the North
Atlantic, and the traditional cruise voyage from the UK to the USA. It dates all the
way back to 1840 and Cunard’s first major voyage and has continued through the Golden Era of the 1920s and 30s to the present day. Along the way it has encom- passed just about every great liner ever to set sail and lives on today through the impressive Queen Mary 2. Of course, White Star Line were one of the other major players in the 19th and 20th centuries, and our writers will offer an
interwoven tale of these two great cruise colossi along the way.
