SUPPORT SEA CHANGE

New charity SEA-CHANGERS is working in the maritime sector to raise money for vital marine conservation issues in UK waters. A registered charity since May 2011, Sea-Changers aims to create a healthy, sustainable marine environment using volunteer work and charitable donations and is appealing to the cruise industry to help spread their message. Co-founder Helen Webb explained: “Our vision is to create a world where, far from damaging the oceans, those who use the sea for their leisure pursuits, positively contribute to the sustainability of the marine environment. “Sea-Changers’ mission is to raise thousands of pounds for marine conserva-

tion charities primarily in the UK. Our model is simple. We raise funds when leisure cruisers, divers, sailors and surfers are going out and enjoying the sea. “We do this via partnerships with marine based businesses – cruise lines,

scuba diving centres, chandleries, boat charter operators and so on. In many cases, these businesses will operate our primary fundraising model, an opt-out donation, added to the customer’s bill. “In our short history, we have established positive relationships with many of the existing UK charities and projects we will seek to fund. We are signing up participating marine businesses, across a wide spectrum in the diving, sailing, cruising and surfing fields.” More info: www.sea-changers.org or 07909 897867.

The new 10-day “A Taste of France” itinerary begins with a two-night hotel stay and exploration of local food culture in Paris, followed by a seven-night river cruise through the Rhone Valley aboard MS Swiss Emerald. Company CEO Dan Mahar explained:

“The foods and wines of France are world renowned and our new river cruise is a fantastic introduction to what makes France such a culinary treasure. We’ve combined our 87 years of experience showcasing the world’s premier destinations with the insights and access of Churchill & Turen, all with the ease and elegance of river cruising.” Included in the price are all sightseeing, activities and shore excursions, two nights hotel accommodations in Paris, all gratuities, complimentary wine with onboard meals, all taxes and port charges, airport transfers, luggage handling, most meals, and more. Launched in 2006, Swiss Emerald was

recently enhanced with new décor and other improvements and carried just 118 guests to ensure a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
