Q

is for…

QUESTIONS Our members are an inquisitive, adventurous bunch,

so Society staff have to be exceptionally knowledgeable about their subject and ready to leap into a tricky question, with confi dence, at a moment’s notice. Euan Campbell from the Events team (pictured left with Nick Malcolm from The Vaults) said: “I’m always happy when members ask for suggestions. That always creates a conversation and it often feels like we are going on a bit of an adventure with the members. It is a great feeling to be able to give them something that really knocks their socks off .”

THATCHER WON THE UK GENERAL ELECTION, AND SPACE SHUTTLE CHALLENGER COMPLETED ITS MAIDEN FLIGHT.

R

is for… RARE AND REMARKABLE

Once a release of a particular Society bottling is all snapped up, it will never be available again. The average Outturn of a single cask tends to be about 300 bottles – making each bottle, by its very nature, a limited edition release. And some can be considerably rarer than that too – like our smallest-ever Outturn of just 15 bottles from Cask No. 23.65 ‘Innocent and mild’, a 7 year old which hailed from an obviously rather leaky refi ll barrel. So, if you see a whisky you like the look of on our website or in the latest Outturn, best to snap it up as soon as you can – or risk missing out!
