In an increasingly competitive and difficult environment, where the battle for consumer attention, trust and loyalty are ever more critical to success, a positive reputation is absolutely vital; literally it can be the difference between triumph and failure.
Having a brand that consumers have confidence and belief in is important but the winner of the inaugural Travel Brand of the Year goes beyond that. They have a brand that excites, that inspires, that truly stands out from the norm. Indeed, not only are they known and liked, but in many cases loved. This gives them a huge competitive advantage.
Their brand has been built through bold campaigns that reiterate their character and point of difference. The brand success in being awarded inaugural Travel Brand of the Year however is based not on their past achievements but only their latest highly successful campaign. Entitled ‘Your Airline’s Either Got It Or It Hasn’t’ the campaign was a standout multi-channel initiative that reaffirmed the brand’s distinctive, cheeky and fun personality.
During the deliberations for this Award, we considered factors such as quality, reputation, leadership and distinction, all of which we collectively felt were embodied by their campaign entry. Much heated debate was had, especially considering the high quality of entrants from throughout the travel industry but in the end it was clear that this highly successful brand had delivered once again and outperformed their peers. Congratulations must once more therefore be given to a brand that is not unused to accolades: Virgin Atlantic.
