KISS ‘BIG OUTBACK ADVENTURE’ KISS FOR TOURISM NT


Following a successful campaign with Kiss in 2009/10, Tourism NT and Kiss created a campaign designed to position Australia’s Northern Territory amongst a youth audience as the place to live, work and travel.


The three-month campaign aimed at driving home key messages through a real listener experience. The winner of Tourism NT’s ‘Big Outback Adventure’ competition was at the heart of the promotion, which ran on Kiss FM’s Drivetime show. Blogging, webisodes and social media ran in parallel to the radio campaign as the winner travelled around the region, communicating the variety of experiences it has to offer.


The campaign peaked with a week-long ‘Hunt The Croc’ promotion, where listeners received daily clues to find one of five hidden inflatable crocodiles to win a holiday to the Northern Territory.


The campaign saw a 33% increase in awareness of the NT with the 1.8 million KISS audience, with KISS FM listeners ranking Australia as their number one long haul destination.
