10 |March/April 2012 Analog line up gets a boost
Mouser Electronics has signed a global distribution agreement withMonolithic Power Systems (MPS), a fablessmanufacturer of high-performance analog andmixed-signal semiconductors.
The agreement expandsMouser’s line card
withMPS powermanagement integrated circuits (ICs) for DC to DC converters, LED drivers, backlight controllers, Class-D audio amplifiers and other linear ICs. The company’s analog design expertise and experience in ICmanufacturing will supply Mouser customers with new options in high-

performance, energy efficient and cost- effective analog solutions.
Mouser vice president of semiconductors,
Mike Scott, said: “We are pleased to bring MPS on board, giving engineers across the globe quick access to high-performance analog products.”
MPS senior director of sales, Pete Klessel,
added: “Partnering withMouser enablesMPS to get its newest products into the hands of hardware designers around the world.”

Compact and configurable
Part of the Excelsys Technologies Xgen range, Xlite user configurablemodular power supplies provide up to 750Woutput power in a 1U package. Designed to offer up to eight isolated outputs, the Xlite family is available with conformal coating for protection against harsh environments inMIL-COTS applications.
With its power density capable of saving
valuable systemspace and efficiencies of up to 89 per cent, the Xlite family can provide flexible power solutions that simplify design times. Typical applications include industrialmachines, test and measurement systems, automation equipment and printing.
The family consists of four powerPac
models in 200, 400, 600 and 750Wpower levels. Each Xlite powerPacmodel can be populated with up to four powerMods which have isolated outputs andmay be connected in series or parallel for flexibility. The standard range of PowerMods output converters offer nominal outputs of 2.5, 5, 12, 24 and 48V DC and a dual 24V outputmodule.
Features include internal cooling fans, a
5V DC bias voltage for system administration and front panel LEDs, which provide a visual indication of system status. A universal 85 to 264V AC input range is standard, as is over voltage protection. The full load operating temperature range is from-20 to 70°C.
An online design wizard allows
customers to configure customXlite power solutions. The final design is given a unique part number, which can then be ordered fromExcelsys' global distribution network.
