Conference and seminar sessions
Visitors to Ecobuild 2012 can take their pick from a plethora of conference and seminar sessions running over the three days.
The main conference session focuses on new thinking and challenging ideas, as well as the pressing issues affecting government policy and the construction sector – how to keep the industry profitable, remain committed to a low-carbon built environment, and manage the country’s economy through a low growth period with record levels of public debt. The conference adopts a three-stream format, allowing you to concentrate on issues of most relevance: n Beyond construction – achieving a sustainable future. n Making sustainable construction happen. n Design, architecture and sustainability.
It is the seminar sessions that will arguably be more useful for contractors. The seminar programme offers more than 130 sessions, with the emphasis throughout on delivering practical and applied information. Each seminar is structured
Heat pumps are set to become the fastest growing renewable technology
to provide key learning points, supported by case studies, analysis, and examples of best practice. Seminars are available on a first come, first served basis.
InstallerConnect The InstallerConnect seminar stream examines the business potential of renewable technologies, and provides valuable guidance in the proper selection, specification and installation of micro renewable technologies. The technology-specific seminars will take a more in-depth
look at the technologies themselves – solar, heat pumps and biomass – and provide an overview of what’s available in a particular market, what they are, and how the technologies work. Installers will also be given clear guidance and advice on
the installation of these technologies, and be shown how they can be integrated into existing systems. All seminars will cover the MCS accreditation scheme and how becoming an accredited installer can benefit and expand business potential.
