Welcome to Lacrosse Magazine’s annual summer camp directory. For the next 33 pages, we will inundate you with options. How do you choose which one’s right for you?
1. Listen to people you trust. Ask questions about a
camp’s coaches, counselors and orientation. (Is it showcase or instructional?) 2. Interested in a certain college? A school-specific camp could be for you. They can see how you interact with teammates and fit with the culture of that program. However, this will limit your exposure to other coaches. 3. hundreds of players who otherwise might not be seen during the season. If you have a few good days at one of these camps, your stock can rise substantially. 4. Don’t pick a camp aimlessly. Not all camps are for recruiting. Choose a skill-focused camp to simply sharpen your game. If you do choose a recruiting-focused camp, target your selection based on which coaches will be where. 5. Be realistic. Some camps are by invitation only and cater to players they consider elite. Call ahead to find a camp that’s suited to your skill level.
Camps designated “coed” may offer boys’ and girls’ sessions separately, but during the same dates.
