News VI apologise to RPC Tedeco-Gizeh
In the January/February 2012 issue of Vending Internationalour story ‘RPC Tedeco-Gizeh Kenfig - A Story of success in a challenging economic climate’(p16-17) contained three errors which we deeply regret and for which we would like to offer our sincerest apologies. On page 16 we ran a picture of UK Sales Manager, Adrian Pratt, which was incorrectly captioned as General Manager David Lowe. On page 17 we ran a picture of General Manager
David Lowe with Nivo Graham Kingaby which was captioned incorrectly and furthermore not intended for publication as part of this feature. We also ran a picture of David Lowe with two members of the team at Kenfig. This too was captioned incorrectly as Adrian Pratt. Vending International prides itself on its
professionalism and following a full investigation into how this error occurred, has taken steps to ensure that this kind of mistake does not happen again. It would be of particular regret should our error in any way have detracted from recognition of the exceptionally high standards of hygiene, quality and manufacturing operation that we experienced during our visit to the RPC Kenfig site. This has of course caused great embarrassment
to all parties concerned, for which Vending Internationaltake full responsibility. If this has caused readers any confusion, please follow the link below where you can read the story in full with all images now captioned correctly.

QA International (QAI) award RPC Tedeco-Gizeh BRC certification A Grade status
Following an intensive audit of the manufacturing facility, the RPC Tedeco - Gizeh site at Kenfig South Wales has been awarded BRC certification to A grade status. Speaking after the award David Lowe, RPC Tedeco-
Gizeh General Manager said: “This award symbolises the high standards that operate at Kenfig. The business already benefits from a number of hygiene and safety standards relating to the food and drinks services industry. However, we felt that we should demonstrate these standards by gaining BRC recognition. Increasingly BRC status is a requirement of many companies within the sector and to gain A grade status on its first audit is testament to the facility, its procedures and the Kenfig team.” Peter Ainsworth, Director of QAI said: “Certification to
the BRC standard is widely regarded as representing the highest level of production and management controls for companies involved in the manufacture of food packaging. It requires a great commitment by management and staff to apply and maintain the required controls, and to achieve recognition at the first attempt is a remarkable achievement.”
