How our first women’s watch arrived in Canada


This happy young woman is Sarah Currie, of Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, who is the proud owner of the first-ever Christopher Ward women’s watch.


Taking its customer service to a new level, the company pledged to get a watch to her even before the women’s line was officially launched last summer. This extraordinary story began when Peter Carruthers, Sarah’s uncle, contacted CW wondering if it sold styles for females. He had previously bought a watch from CW for a nephew and as that was a huge success, he wanted one as a 21st birthday present for his niece. Ever ready to assist, Chris Ward sent to Peter a pdf showing the soon-to-be introduced styles. He was the first person outside the company to see the selection. He chose the S20-DEC-SWS, the Charlotte square-faced watch with a stainless steel strap. Eager to get an early reaction to our new launch, Chris organised the despatch to Canada but did not take payment for several weeks until the new range’s codes were set up. He was determined to have the gift there for Sarah’s big day. Her uncle Peter commented: “Wow, I am blown away. This is customer service at the highest level. Chris, you should be congratulated on creating such an ethos in your company.” As you can see, Sarah seems quite impressed with her gift too.
