A few years ago I was lucky enough to go skiing in Japan and had one of the most memorable runs of my life, in waist-deep powder. Once I’d completed the run I thought, wow, I’ve had my ultimate experience – will my desire to hit the slopes in future be diminished as a result? Well I think you’ll guess the answer to that question – no chance. Like a true snowsports addict, it only helped fuel my passion for the sport further and spurred me on to seek out the experience again and again. This season thanks to the epic snowfalls in
the Alps, many of us have had the chance to enjoy similar conditions to the ones I enjoyed in Japan. As a result I reckon those who have already been to the Alps are gagging to hit the slopes again; and those who haven’t been yet are equally eager to grab a slice of the action. That’s why in this online taster of Britain’s best-selling wintersports
magazine, Daily Mail Ski & Snowboard, I’ve chosen our lead feature from the March/April edition highlighting the best resorts to visit for a spring break (p23). Plus you can prepare to make the most of any late-season snow by reading Warren Smith’s article about how to make fluid turns in the fluffy stuff (first published in the November print edition). It’s advice that could make a good day truly memorable and the sport you love, more addictive. Cheers,
