In the beginning, tackling powder can feel extremely alien. That’s because, compared to a firm and reliable piste, powder snow can sometimes feel unstable and unpredictable. One of the big problems many skiers have is an inability to keep the skis riding together at a similar level in the snow. One ski can float, while the other sinks, leading to poor control and a loss of balance. To combat this, and make smooth, stable turns, follow the pointers opposite.
