CONTROL FREAK
The world’s largest video game controller was unveiled last week: a giant NES joypad that is 30 times larger than the original controller.
The device is four metres long, weighs 120 kilograms – and it actually works. It was built by British engineering student Ben Allen and collaborators from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. You’d be hard pushed to lose this controller under the sofa.
SIM-PLE GURL Katy Perry will make her video game debut this year in The Sims. The ‘California Gurls’ singer will not only star in ads for expansion pack The Sims 3 Showtime, she will also appear in-game, allowing players to recreate her tours with Katy Perry-themed content. Said Perry: “I always like to think of myself as a cartoon, and now I’m a Sim!” Roughly translated: “The cheque they gave me was massive. Cha-ching!”
ANGRY BIRDS KANYE? According to The Sun, rapper Kanye West met with the developers of Angry Birdsthis month to discuss ways they could work together. Angry Birds Kayneconfirmed? We certainly wouldn’t mind catapulting limbless caricatures of West at cartoon pigs. Perhaps his special power would be to disrupt music awards shows.
But we are looking forward to Tinie Tempah Towermore.
