IAN COUCH.
“IAN IS THE MAN WHO MAKES YOU BELIEVE THAT ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. CHALLENGE, ADVENTURE AND ACHIEVEMENT ARE THE VERY CORE OF HIS BEING. IAN IS A MAN WHO CAN, WILL AND DOES” Jo Hallows - CEO Creative Director YOYO media Limited
Ian Couch is a versatile adventurer and ultra-athlete who has achieved an impressive list of World Records through his expeditions on land, sea and ice.
After leaving the Armed Forces, where he served as an officer in the Infantry for 17 years, Ian set up his own expedition business, taking teams of people to some of the most hostile environments on earth. Ian’s personal expeditions have included rowing across the Indian and Atlantic Oceans, making the fastest British speed crossing of the Greenland ice-cap and competing in the 145 mile Gobi Desert Challenge.
In 2012, Ian is planning to set out on his most challenging expedition to date – an 1800-mile unsupported traverse right across Antarctica - the coldest, driest and windiest continent on Earth. Ian will be attempting this new challenge, which has never been done before, alongside fellow adventurer Ben Thackwray.
Having survived cancer at the age of 29, Ian is a big believer in making the most of every opportunity life offers, motivating himself and others through old fashioned grit and determination. His experience as an Infantry Officer, expedition leader and an ultra-athlete enables him to speak with great insight on a range of subjects.
