OUR STORY.

People often ask me how Speakers from the Edge began. Back in 2007, I met Andy Kirkpatrick, a professional mountaineer and speaker. I was immediately struck by how incredibly driven and focused he is. Here was a severely dyslexic man who had left school with no qualifications, few prospects and absolutely no idea what to do next. Yet through sheer determination he had turned himself into an internationally renowned mountaineer, a published writer and a brilliant motivational speaker.

ACHIEVED WITHOUT BEING BOLD ENOUGH TO BEGIN” Speaker from the Edge Alastair Humphreys

“NOTHING CAN BE

I never intended to launch a business. I had begun promoting Andy as a small part-time job to fit around my family, but as I learnt more about the world of expeditions and adventure, I became increasingly inspired.

I decided to gather together a small group of people who had achieved great feats of physical and mental endurance, who could captivate an audience and crucially

who could relate their experiences to business. Searching for a name, ‘Speakers from the Edge’ seemed to fit.

Today we have a select portfolio of mountaineers, explorers, adventurers and athletes who give motivational presentations all over the world. In our first four years of business, our speakers have inspired over 70,000 people, from global pharmaceutical companies to asset management groups and NHS management networks.

All our speakers share a determination to succeed, the motivation to achieve the impossible and the tenacity to keep going against all the odds - also the qualities you need to run a successful business.

I hope you will be inspired as you look through our brochure. I think we have created something really special with Speakers from the Edge. I hope you do too.
