Enterprise and entrepreneurship

WE HAVE A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF STUDENTS WHO GRADUATE AND BECOME SELF-EMPLOYED, PARTICULARLY IN THE CREATIVE SECTOR. SELF- EMPLOYMENT CAN INCLUDE STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS, WORKING IN A FREELANCE CAPACITY OR OPERATING A FRANCHISE.

redLoop

An undergraduate degree should be about big ideas, optimism, paradigm shifts, utopian vision and idealism. We have recently established an Incubator Centre and an Innovation Hub, ‘redLoop’ to help students develop their business ideas, and provide an advice/business planning forum. redLoop is an interdisciplinary design consultancy operating as part of the School of Engineering and Information Sciences. Our core work is in the product, service, interaction and technology sectors.

As ‘knowledge creators’, universities have access to a massive range of specialists. Innovating in an increasingly complex world takes teams with diverse experiences and expertise. We can set up flexible and scalable teams that are matched to projects.
