NASTA ANDINANTI, INDONESIA MA MARKETING COMMUNICATION

I grew up in Indonesia and I studied in Malaysia for my bachelors degree. I did International Business and Business Law for three years before coming to London. As an International Business student, I have been exposed to every area of a business environment. When I was in Malaysia, I worked in a marketing company which got me more interested in this field. That is why I decided to study Marketing Communication as my masters degree.

I chose Middlesex University because of the location, London, and because I got a good recommendation from an education agency about Middlesex. Since I studied at Middlesex, I have volunteered with NOFAS-UK, an organisation that helps raise awareness of Foetal Alcohol Syndrome and is dedicated to eliminating birth defects caused by alcohol consumption during pregnancy. This experience has helped

me to apply theory to a real life situation. I think this has shaped me to be a more critical thinker. Undoubtedly, volunteering has widened my skills and knowledge. I have just completed my masters degree and I am planning on applying for the CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) Professional Diploma in Marketing next, which I believe will further enhance my marketing abilities and develop my career in the future. The most unforgettable experience I had was the residential trip, which was held for all marketing students. We were given presentations by many companies about how they market their products and services. The lecturers were very helpful as well, they had great experience and a broad knowledge about the course and they helped me to develop ideas about the real business marketing environment.

My tips for new students: Enjoy your time at

university and your student life – it’s really fun, don’t forget to study smart and work hard, get to know more people, interact with them, and who knows in the future they might be your work contacts.
