STS Aviation Promotes Pat Cunnane Pat Cunnane has been promoted to vice president of Business Development for the STS Aviation Group. A Philadelphia native, he joined STS in 2009 as the director of business Development. Pat will lead the Business Development team for STS AeroStaff Services, STS Engineering Solutions and STS Line Maintenance in expanding market share and growing into new markets.
Jet Aviation Names Two Key Leaders Jet Aviation has named Norbert Ehrich vice president and general manager of the Central and South American region. Ehrich will direct activities at the company’s São Paulo and Sorocaba operations while exploring additional business opportunities in Central and South America. He will be responsible for all of Jet Aviation’s lines of business in this region. Ehrich has been with the company for nearly 20 years, most recently as leader of our FBO operations at Palm Beach, Dallas and St. Louis. Jet Aviation also appointed John Langevin vice president and general manager, FBO operations, North America. In his new role Langevin will oversee all of Jet Aviation’s U.S. FBOs: Teterboro, N.J.; Boston/ Bedford, Mass.; Palm Beach, Fla.; St. Louis, Mo. and Dallas, Texas.
FlightSafety Int’l Promotes Steve Phillips FlightSaftey Int’l has promoted Steve Phillips to vice president, Communications. Phillips is responsible for the design, development and distribution of FlightSafety’s internal and external
communications programs. He supports the wide range of industry-leading training services and advanced technology simulation equipment FlightSafety provides the aviation industry and government and military agencies worldwide. This includes promoting, protecting and enhancing FlightSafety’s brand, through advertising, marketing programs, collateral materials, and the company’s participation in trade shows and industry events around the world. He is also responsible for FlightSafety’s public and media relations activities and serves as the company’s spokesperson. Phillips joined FlightSafety as director, Communications in 2005 and has helped to launch and support many of FlightSafety’s innovative products, services and programs.

Emirates and AFI KLM E&M Ink Component Deal
Emirates and AFI KLM E&M have signed a five-year non-exclusive agreement for component services on the Boeing 777 and Airbus A330/A340 fleets operated by Emirates and a general terms agreement. Adel Al Redha, Emirates Executive Vice
President for Engineering and Flight Operations said: “We look forward to working with AFI KLM E&M through this new maintenance agreement. The scope of services and the experience of AFI KLM E&M will be beneficial to our supply chain”.
PPG Sponsors Science Shows at Three Mojave Schools
The PPG Industries Foundation helped to bring an interactive, educational assembly about color all the way from Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh to three schools in the Mojave, Calif., area. Through an employee program of the foundation, employees at the PPG Industries aerospace manufacturing facility sponsored $3,000 in foundation grants to bring the science show to area schools where they have an interest. Stan Zaharewicz, plant manager at the PPG Mojave facility, welcomed students at Summerwind Elementary School in Palmdale to join in “The Great Color Caper” and help find the culprit who stole colors from the city of Spectropolis while learning about the science behind light and color. The show also visited Westpark Elementary School in Rosamond and California City Middle School in California City.

The show is one of four dynamic Science on the Road educational programs that Carnegie Science Center developed with funding and participation from PPG. Employees at the PPG Mojave plant requested grants through a PPG Industries Foundation program to fund visits by this show to three local schools.

Virgin Australia Inaugurates ATR 72-500 Services
Virgin Australia launched commercial services with the first of its new ATR 72-500 turboprop airliners recently. The inaugural flight of Virgin Australia’s first turboprop—and Australia’s first ATR 72—was also the airline’s first flight from Brisbane to the regional industrial city of Gladstone. This was also a milestone for ATR Regional Aircraft, the largest manufacturer of 50-74 seat turboprop airliners, adding Australia to an extensive list of Asia-Pacific markets where ATR 72-500 aircraft operate.
Brussels Selects LHT Malta for A330 Base Mx
Brussels Airlines and Lufthansa Technik Malta have signed a base maintenance contract for the Airbus A330 fleet of the carrier. Lufthansa Technik Malta will provide C-checks for the five A330s of Brussels Airlines starting now. Additionally Lufthansa Technik Malta has been selected to do a full cabin retrofit of the aircraft starting in February 2012. “This is the first time we will work
together with Lufthansa Technik for the base maintenance of our long haul fleet. They have a huge expertise and a high quality standard in both areas, C-checks and cabin refurbishment. This gives us the guarantee to achieve the result which we expect in this very important project for our airline,” said Koen Vanaenroyde, VP Maintenance & Engineering of Brussels Airlines.
CIRCOR to Supply Actuation Packages
The CIRCOR Aerospace Products has been selected by Messier-Bugatti-Dowty (Safran Group) to manufacture a complete suite of 20 actuators for multiple business and regional aircraft platforms. CIRCOR Aerospace will perform the manufacturing, final assembly and testing of these actuators at its Corona, Cali. facilities.
